Write for us
Western Style Review welcomes pitches that help readers see western style more clearly. We are interested in original, well-shaped ideas about dress, interiors, craft, objects and visual culture, approached with a precise eye and a clear reason for publication.
What to pitch
Propose an article with one central question or observation, a distinct angle and a short account of what readers will understand by the end. Comparisons, explanations of design details, thoughtful histories and useful guides to looking closely can all fit. We favour subjects that remain useful beyond a passing trend.
What makes a strong proposal
Show why the subject belongs here, what makes your approach specific, and what sources or visual examples could support it. Keep the pitch focused rather than sending a broad list of ideas. Tell us about relevant experience only where it helps explain your approach; do not imply credentials you do not hold.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page, choosing the editorial option and including a working title, a concise summary and any relevant links or source notes. Please pitch before sending a full draft. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we will consider it for fit and clarity.
